I got this wind jacket on a ridiculously good sale here on Amazon (~$25), so that definitely factors into my positive review. This is essentially a windbreaker, and at that, it does a perfect job. However, if you are looking for a rain jacket, keep looking, because that's not what this jacket is for (although it will help keep you a bit warmer in the event of a shower than a normal jersey). It packs small and fits great in a jersey pocket or saddle or handlebar bag, and weighs barely anything, so it is easy to pack along for long rides in cooler weather, especially in the evenings as the temperatures drop. It is also a great jacket to start out with, and easy to remove and store as you warm up. It's also convenient to have along with you in cold weather so in the event of a flat or mechanical you can put it on right away and help retain your body heat. The jacket is fairly breathable, but if you have it on and start to get hot, I'd take it off immediately, because the sweat will build up.I purchased the small, and it fits snug enough so there isn't extra material flapping around, but not so tight as to be restrictive. I am 5[8" and weight 160-165lbs. The arms are long enough where they don't pull when on the bike, but they don't look ridiculously baggy, either.I purchased the red jacket, which I thought looked a little funny with the black arm patches, but that's the one that was on sale, and it didn't bug me too much because it matches my shop kit. It also stands out a bit more than the black or white one in traffic, which is a definite plus.If I had the black one, I would also use this backpacking, as a windshirt is a great lightweight piece of gear to have with you for many of the same reasons as on a bike. The red one is just a little too garish for my tastes while hiking, where I like to blend in a bit more (unless it's hunting season, then this would be perfect. All in all, this is a great windbreaker for riding to keep the windchill at bay and add a couple of degrees to your kit. And that's what it's designed for. But don't expect this to keep you dry in a downpour. My favorite packable cycling jacket. Packs down to size of a fits and easily fits in Jersey pocket. It doesn’t have any vents or pockets so it’s lightweight and packable so I wouldn’t wear for an all day ride. It’s more of using for part of ride and then taking off when it warms up or to have a little rain protection. It will keep you dry from road spray or a light drizzle but it’s so thin any heavy rain and it will soak through. My only issue is the zipper, it’s tiny flimsy. I know it’s to keep the jacket light and stowable but I feel like it’s going to break sometimes. The white color is more like a dark clear that you can still see through, which I like. This is a great jacket as far as the protection it offers. It does an excellent job of blocking the wind and keeping me warm on chilly mornings. It bunches up into a tight ball and fits easily into the rear pocket of a jersey. The only problem I have with the jacket is that it fits a bit too loosely. I normally wear a medium and this fits me fine, but is a bit too roomy. The problem I run into with the roominess is that the sleeves and shoulder area flap a lot in the wind of when going down hill. At least people can hear me coming. The material is perfect. Functionally, it sheds wind exactly as it should. And packs up very small, despite not having a stash pocket.(Dear Pearl, add it as a flap at the end of the sleeves that doubles as a stash pocket and "mitten" finger cover w/ a thumb hole)If this is the smallest size they make; who does it fit? Im a true small. Narrow shoulders and waist. Medium to long arms. The waist of this jacket fits almost perfectly. Even through the chest its ok considering that you may need to fit a layer under it.ITS THE ARMS AND SHOULDERS THAT ARE SO STRANGE.The sleeves are 6 inches longer than mine. They cover my hands. And the sleeves and shoulders are large enough I can fit a winter coat under them! This is an impossible fit for windy conditions -- when they jacket is most necessary. It fits ok while standing straight up. Almost the way a sportcoat should fit.But on the bike, in a crouched position, the coat comes alive with wind flap and excess material.Sorry, Pearl. I can not keep you.Much thinner than I thought it would be, but it definitely kept the chill out.I've only gotten to ride once with this, along with the Elite Thermal Long Sleeve jersey and a Marino Wool base layer. It was in the upper 30s but I did not feel any chill at all with this combo.I'm interested to see how it holds up, being such a thin material.Great jacket to put in your jersey pocket. You won't believe how small this folds/rolls up. Works well at the start of the day if it's a bit cool.I'm 5'8 and 160lbs. Tried a medium at the LBS and it was really loose. Ordered a men's small online and it's a bit tight. Oh well. It seems to be stretching a bit with time.Fit tight where it needed to except for the arms which were a little too big and got caught in the wind. Water protection was really non existent. Rode in Oregon and through mist and very light rain. Jacket soaked through almost immediately but it DID maintain its wind protection throughout the ride. It folds up tight and fits anywhere.I must confess it was a present for my grandson. He gave me the specifics and I ordered. He was very pleased. I stated the fit as somewhat small as he had me order the medium. He is very tall and thin and I was surprised, but I order what I am told to. LOL The company was great and got the jacket to me before Christmas.Lightweight and folds up small enough to fit in a jersey pocket - just what a cyclist needs as protection against showers or wind chill in early morning rides. Not the cheapest of clothing items, though. The only objective criticism I have is that the zip in mine does up like a lady's, and I am a gent! I can live with this though, so did not return it.Fantastic product. Wore it day after day during very changeable weather recently and despite the fact it is paper thin it kept me dry and warm. Only negative is that it has long arms but it is a very small negative. Great value as well when compared to more expensive brands.Fit as expected, you forget that u wear it! Breathable and keeps me dry in rainy days.Does what it says on the tin. Packs down very well and is very light. Wore it in windy showery weather and it kept me warm and dry.
